Name: Shelli Cooper
Team Role: Passenger and Team Manager
Age: 46
Born: Sheffield, Yorkshire
Shelli works for a Sheffield based charity, ScoopAid, which helps lone parents access support, education/training and employment. Shelli manages projects, raises funds and makes the tea. Former lives have included working for Barnsley council and teaching English at a variety of colleges.
Shelli was born and bred in Sheffield, only managing to escape for a short time to go to university in York. She now lives in Birley Edge (North Sheffield) with partner Nick and son, Patrick.
Shelli's interest in motorbikes is only recent. A madcap pillion ride over the North Yorks moors in her student days did not impress and led to a vow of "never again". A sequence of events led to Shelli passing her test at the age of 40 and she's enjoyed riding ever since. Meeting Nick introduced her to the classic race circuits and to sidecar racing in particular. Foolishly she said: "That looks like fun." and now look what has happened!
Shelli currently rides 3 bikes, an old CBR600 for commuting, a VTR1000 Firestorm (in Britten colours) and a Bimota BB1 Supermono.
Shelli's first experience of passengering the outfit (and of being on a race track) was at Mallory Park where she and Nick took the imp out for an afternoons testing after picking it up from Ray Reeves... (Yes, it was only two corners!)...but it was enough to give her the racing bug. Any correspondence, contacts etc. should be forwarded to Hillsborough Leisure Centre Gym, Sheffield.
