Thing have been very busy at OTE Towers since the end of the season, we have finished the new workshop, and have started rebuilding our bike.
We had the frame recoated as the guy that did it last year made a right mess of it, but we took it to PTM in Elland, who stripped of the old coating and applied a nice new shiny one.
These guys really know what they are doing, and understand bikes. If you need some powder coating doing, give them a call. (01422 727275).
We have also made up a new rear brake assembly, the old one wasn't really up to the job, as the mounting plate was flexing.
We have also rebuilt the engine and gearbox, no major problems were discovered, although one of the main bearings had picked up slightly, and the oil pump drive gear was a bit worn.
The crank was polished up by Sheffield Engine Services, who didn't charge much, and turned it round in less than 2 hours! Another On The Edge Racing recommendation! http://www.sheffieldengineservices.com/
The engine and gearbox are now back in the frame, and as soon as a friend of the team, Paul Allender has machined the new brake discs, the front end will be completed.
Then it's just the little jobs, that take all of the time, to do. Wiring, plumbing etc.
We have also started work on Howard's bike, and have now finished the bulk of the frame modifications, so that we can fit the Pearson drive.
Andy will keep the site updated over the winter, so that you can follow our progress.
Happy Xmas from all at On The Edge Racing.
